The blistering summer months are here and in full swing! The air is heavy and the days are long and exhausting. All we can think about is finding any and every escape from the skyrocketing temperatures outside.

If not, we’ve found a few refreshing cocktails to try that will help you get through the sweltering weeks ahead and taste summer in a whole new way.
Each Friday we’ll share a new recipe with you so that whether you’re attending another backyard barbecue, lounging by the pool or strolling along the beach, you can take your mind off of the stifling heat and make the most of your summer.
The Firecracker (via Creative Culinary)
Yields: 2 servings // Prep Time: 5 minutes // Total Time: 12 minutes
Ingredients
-4 oz. cucumber vodka
-4 (1-inch) cubes of seedless watermelon
-2 limes, sliced
-2 oz. simple syrup
Directions
-Combine vodka, watermelon and lime in a cocktail shaker. Muddle all ingredients well. Add simple syrup, fill with ice, cover and shake until ice cold.
-Rim the glasses with a cut lime and dip in a lime rim mixture (equal parts salt and sugar combined with some fresh grated lime).
-Fill the glasses with ice and strain the ingredients from the shaker into the glasses.
-Garnish with a watermelon slice, a cucumber slice and a mint sprig.
